Those are the lucky ones, there are renewable sites out there which are constrained and can’t export their full capacity of energy to the grid, forcing them to dump energy which is literally just throwing money away. Alongside this, there are renewable sites that aren’t even connected to the grid, so there is no option to export to the grid as the connection fees are ludicrous, so the sites have to be monetised locally which is inherently more difficult.

Crypto mining proposes the concept of utilising your energy on site by plugging in mining rigs (posh computer servers). In turn for then renting out the computer power produced by your machines, you will then be paid for this service.
